Highlights

Eleanor Myers is a psychology graduate of Princeton University. She studied language development and worked as a research assistant in the Princeton Baby Lab. Her senior thesis titled “Social Cue Usage in Naturalistic Play: Caregivers of Normal-Hearing Infants vs. Caregivers of Infants with Mild to Moderate Hearing Loss.”

She is interested in childhood language development, specifically in children with delayed speech and other speech difficulties. She is also interested in how psychology can inform behavioral changes necessary to achieve environmental sustainability. She hopes to pursue these topics through a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology after graduating from Princeton.

Eleanor currently works as a lab manager of the early childhood cognition lab (PI: Dr. Tamar Kushnir) at Duke University.

Outside of the lab, Eleanor enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing volleyball, and watching the Great British Baking Show.

Professional Experience

• Lab Manager of the Early Childhood Cognition Lab (PI: Dr. Tamar Kushnir) at Duke University (June 2023 – Present)
• Research Assistant at the Princeton Baby Lab at Princeton University (Feb. 2021 – July 2023): Worked with lab general tasks, including recruitment and correspondence with participants, running studies, and coding videos. She worked on a project investigating how caregivers provide non-verbal cues to help their children learn new words during natural play sessions. Worked on a project investigating how caregivers and children actively contribute to word learning.
• Research Assistant at the Developing Minds Lab at Boston University (Summer 2022): Worked on lab general tasks, including recruitment and correspondence with participants. She led the design of an experiment exploring how three and four-year-old children reason about multiple, mutually exclusive possible objects. She ran studies on the concept of possibility in three- and four-year-olds in the lab and the Museum of Science in Boston, MA.
